New features for catalog administrators
Our partners at Instructure have been working quickly and efficiently to introduce new and useful features for IU Expand. Here’s a rundown of what’s new in IU Expand.
Allow Multiple Promo Codes
The platform now supports multiple promo codes (or discounts). This means you can stack offers—such as “10% off early registration” plus “free access for alumni”, making promotions more flexible and extending your creative control over how you run offers and incentives. This optional feature can be toggled “on” or “off” at the subcatalog level.
Optional Enrollment Restriction by Email Domain
You now have the option to restrict who can enroll based on learners’ email domains. For example, you can set up a course so that only users with “@-yourorganization.edu” or “@partnercompany.com” emails can enroll. This makes it easy to offer a course exclusively to your organization’s staff or partners, without requiring manual approval for each person.
Copy Listings Feature
This long requested and awaited feature is live! With the “Copy Listings” feature, you can duplicate an existing course listing, including many of its settings, and then tweak what needs changing (title, description, dates). This speeds up creating new offerings, renewing annual training requirements, and can aid consistency across your catalogs.
Recommendations Feature
The system can now automatically suggest courses to learners based on what they’ve viewed or enrolled in. For example: “You looked at Course A; you might also like Course B.” This “recommendations” feature helps learners discover additional relevant content and boosts the likelihood of them enrolling in a second (or third) course.
