Nudging features are now available
Ever thought it might be nice to be able to send automated reminders out for your course catalog? Instructure has made major headway on some brand-new nudging features that are sure to maximize value for learners.
Post Enrollment Nudge Emails
The system can now automatically send a friendly email reminder after listing enrollment. The “nudge” is a brief message thanking the learner, pointing out next steps (e.g. “Start your first module now”), and encouraging them to stay on track. This can engage learners from the start to better connect them with course content.

Abandoned Cart Nudge Emails
Sometimes learners add a course to their cart but don’t complete enrollment. Now, the system can send a follow-up email to gently remind them: “Looks like you picked a course but didn’t finish enrollment. Here’s a link to come back.” This feature helps recover enrollments that might otherwise slip away and be forgotten.

Deadline Nudge Emails
For courses with a time limit or deadline (e.g. days to complete limit), nudge emails can now go out at key moments to remind learners of approaching deadlines or to nudge learners who haven’t yet started the course. These reminders help ensure learners are aware of important dates, so they don’t miss their chance to complete the course or qualify for a certificate.
